What is it?
Partners in Policymaking teaches people to be community leaders. The program educates participants about current issues and best practices in the disabilities field and teaches them about the policymaking and legislative process.
The goal is to reach a productive partnership between people who need and use services and those in a position to make policy and law.

The Program
Participants attend six two-day sessions. During each session, experts in specific will present up-to-date information and discuss recent breakthroughs. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory.
A maximum of thirty people will be chosen. The following will be provided: air travel, hotel accommodations, meals, personal assistance services, and child care.
You will be expected to complete assignments between sessions and a major assignment at the end of the program.

Fridays 3:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Saturdays 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Sessions will be held at the Pagoda Hotel in Honolulu.
